Top chefs prepare tastings for a special event
A bevy of top Boston chefs and mixologists will prepare tastings on April 30, for OCRA: Turn Up the Heat Boston. OCRA stands for Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, and this is one of the group’s signature fund-raisers.
Last year’s event raised more than $40,000; proceeds fund research, advocacy initiatives, and patient support programs. So often, ovarian cancer’s symptoms are subtle and aren’t noticed until it’s spread — so early detection is crucial.
The all-female lineup includes “Top Chef” ’s Adrienne Wright (Deuxave), Bar Mezzana’s Christina Larsen, Juliet’s Rachael Collins, Catalyst’s Angela Peterson, Nathalie Wine Bar’s Raleigh Strott, Sarma’s Cassie Piuma, and Villa Mexico’s Julie King.
It’s a prime way to sample signature dishes from some of the area’s female industry leaders, all for a good cause. The feast kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at Kendall Square’s Catalyst (300 Technology Square); tickets are $100 ($85 for guests under 30). Driving?
