Last year, Munch Madness ended with a curse cast by a “voodoo master.’’ (It backfired.)
Along the way, there were threatening notes, prank calls, and picket lines.
What will happen this year?
It is time once again for The Boston Globe’s annual tournament of restaurants, inspired by the NCAA’s March Madness. We create a bracket of 64 restaurants, divided roughly between contestants from the previous year and new entrants. You, the readers, fill it out, then go to www.boston.com/munchmadness to weigh in. You’ll find information about each restaurant to help you decide, and a chance to persuade others that your favorites should be their favorites, too.

Log on to vote in Round 1 Wednesday and Thursday. For Round 2, vote Friday and Saturday. Round 3 takes place Sunday and Monday, and Round 4 March 27-28. That leads us to the Final Four, March 29-30. Voting for the championship will take place March 31-April 1. We’ll tally the results and announce them April 4.
For the past two years, the championship has come down to two Cambridge restaurants: Hungry Mother and East Coast Grill. East Coast Grill was the victor in 2010. Last year, Hungry Mother triumphed. The rivalry was intense. Is it time for some new blood?
Let the games begin.
