Laughing Moon Chocolates in Stowe, Vt., makes handmade candy canes in small batches. Owner Leigh Williams stretches, rolls, and twists warm candy to make 6-inch-long canes ($2.99 to $4.50). In true artisanal fashion, every one looks slightly different. She turns out peppermint, spearmint, and wintergreen, along with cinnamon and maple. If you visit during the holidays you can watch a demonstration and learn how to make the striped delights. Available at Savenor’s Market, 92 Kirkland St., Cambridge, 617-576-6328 and 160 Charles St., Boston, 617-723-6328.
