Mary Beth Benison of CoCoBeni Confections in Northborough brings her talents to seasonal confections, creating cupcakes ($2.75 each) decorated with butter cream to look like Easter basket grass, topped with chocolate rabbits. Or try one of her spring “velvet” series, made without cocoa: pink, lilac, and yellow cakes decorated with cream cheese frosting and spring flowers. The pastry chef makes cupcakes, frostings, and fillings in small batches, using the freshest ingredients, from original recipes. You’ll also find candy-themed cupcakes like s’mores, peanut butter cup, and Almond Joy. “I love the versatility and flexibility of cupcakes. You can get really creative,” Benison says. CoCoBeni Confections, 247A West Main St., Northborough, 508-393-2253, or go to www.cocobeniconfections.com.
