    Recipe for spicy pita crisps

    Makes 24

    1teaspoon coriander seeds
    1teaspoon cumin seeds
    ¼teaspoon paprika
    teaspoon coarse salt
    teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
    2whole-wheat pitas (8 inches each)
    3tablespoons olive oil

    1. Set the oven at 400 degrees. Have on hand a rimmed baking sheet.

    2. In a mortar or with a rolling pin, coarsely crush coriander and cumin seeds. In a bowl, mix the seeds with paprika, salt, and pepper.

    3. With scissors, cut around edges of each pita round to split them in two.

    4. Brush rough sides of rounds with oil, and sprinkle with spices. Snip each into 6 triangles. Spread on the baking sheet in one layer. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until crisp.
