Pretty, addictive treats

If you’re looking for more treats than tricks this Halloween, head to Serenade Chocolatier in Brookline Village. The shop is featuring a 5-inch chocolate jack-o’-lantern ($10) to dress up your table (without the mess of carving a pumpkin). Crafted from 1-inch-thick 72 percent dark chocolate, the jack-o’-lantern will be a rich treat once its decorating duties are fulfilled. Or choose from a trio of chocolate lollipops ($3.50 each): Belgian white chocolate ghosts or 72 percent dark chocolate cats and witches. Indulge your sinister side with “Dark and Stormy” seasonal truffles ($38 per pound), inspired by the drink of the same name, flavored with rum and ginger. Be forewarned of their addictive qualities. “Customers love them,” cautions proprietor Nur Kilic. “One taste leads to buying an entire pound.” Serenade Chocolatier, 5 Harvard Square, Brookline Village, 617-739-0795, www.serenade
