    Sunday supper

    Recipe for brown rice

    Serves 4 with leftovers

    4cups water
    Salt, to taste
    2cups long-grain brown rice

    1. In a large saucepan, bring the water and a generous pinch of salt to a boil. Add the rice, lower the heat, and cover the pan. Simmer for 40 to 45 minutes or until the rice is tender.

    2. Reserve 4 cups for fried rice.
