Egg perfectly poached in a pouch by Tovolo

If the only thing keeping you from making eggs Benedict is poaching the eggs, Tovolo Perfect Poach ($5 for a package of 20) to the rescue. Made of recyclable, biodegradable, nonstick material, the oval-shaped pouch opens with two flaps and fits into a glass or cup, like a coffee filter, with the flaps extending over the top. Crack the egg into the pouch and when the water is gently simmering, lift the pouch by the flaps and lower it into the water. After 4 to 6 minutes, remove the pouch with tongs or a slotted spoon, let it sit for a few seconds, then slide the egg out. No ragged edges, no metallic taste, no fuss. Available at Kitchen Outfitters, Acton Woods Plaza, 342 Great Road, Acton, 978-263-1955; KitchenWares by Blackstones, 215 Newbury St., Boston, 857-366-4237; Sur La Table, The Mall at Chestnut Hill, 199 Boylston St., Newton, 617-244-0213.
