Juniper, the new project from Sweet Basil owner Dave Becker, is slated to open Wednesday night in Wellesley (13 Central St. at Crest Rd.). Becker calls his 100-seat restaurant “Greek Mediterranean” with Israeli zings. He’s excited about the shakshouka, a chunky tomato stew with collard greens, topped with an egg. It’s served in copper pots from the late Anthony’s Pier 4, which Becker bought at auction. Also look for quinoa falafel; an “outrageously good swordfish” with harissa, chickpea panisse, and pickled beet and orange salad; and a full bar program (Needham’s Sweet Basil is BYO). Juniper is open for dinner six nights a week, closed on Mondays. Chef Tim Fichera comes from Sweet Basil and Ming Tsai’s Blue Ginger.
