Crinkle cutter

When the description of a prep tool reads, “for right- and left-handed use,” you can bet it was designed by someone who knows their way around a kitchen. Kuhn Rikon’s Krinkle Knife ($14) is shaped like a mezzaluna with a curved blade that rocks back and forth for chopping. The Krinkle Knife has a corrugated stainless steel blade which gives a crinkled edge. The ergonomic handle fits comfortably in any hand and the blade cuts neatly. The knife, in green or red, comes with a protective cover that fits snugly over the blade. Available at Kitchen Outfitters, Acton Woods Plaza, 342 Great Road, Acton, 978-263-1955; Eurostoves, 45 Enon St., Beverly, 978-232-0007; and KitchenWares by Blackstones, 215 Newbury St., Boston, 857-366-4237.
