WHAT Metal saucepans outfitted as sinks in the Innovation District restaurant’s bathroom, accessorized with a soap dispenser that’s actually a bottle of Jack Daniel’s.
WHOSE IDEA The powder rooms at this new Mediterranean spot take dishwashing to a new level. “We do a lot of braising of octopus and lamb using these pans, so we wanted to incorporate that into our design wherever we could. This was a way to have a little fun doing it,” says general manager Demetri Tsolakis, who calls the aesthetic “industrial meets Mediterranean village.” He ordered the saucepans from his hometown of Aigio in western Greece and outfitted them with drains. “In Greece, we cook a lot with our hands, so this adds a bit of a Mediterranean touch when washing them,” he says. When marinating your paws in the sink, squirt them with soap from a Jack Daniel’s bottle — a nod to the restaurant’s classic cocktail list.
