Looking ahead: Big news in Cambridge: The team behind Island Creek Oyster Bar and Row 34 will open a restaurant in Harvard Square’s Conductor’s Building
(2 Bennett St. at Eliot
Street) later this year.

The unnamed restaurant — helmed by chef Jeremy Sewall, Skip Bennett, Garrett Harker, and Shore Gregory — is slated for a winter 2016 opening, with design by Bentel & Bentel, the firm responsible for New York landmarks like Gramercy Tavern and Eleven Madison Park.

The team has been busy: The group will continue to collaborate on Row 34 in Boston and Portsmouth, N.H., plus Island Creek Oyster Bar in Boston and, soon, in Burlington.

Restaurateur extraordinaire Harker also runs Kenmore Square’s Eastern Standard and The Hawthorne cocktail bar, as well as Watertown’s newish Branch Line rotisserie.

Openings: Irish pub chain Waxy O’Connor’s goes a bit upscale with a new Brookline restaurant, opening soon (1032 Beacon St. at Carlton Street). Enjoy a sprawling menu of sausages, seafood stew, cider-seared salmon, and more than 40 beers on draft. For brunch, there’s bangers and hash, black pudding, and an assortment of crepes. Plus, there’s a patio. Waxy’s replaces Mission Cantina.

Brunches and lunches: The Seaport’s new Mediterranean hangout, Committee, opens for brunch on April 2 (50 Northern Ave. at Fan Pier Boulevard). Visit on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. for Greek yogurt pancakes, breakfast gyros, baklava oatmeal, breakfast pies, and shareable shakshouka — eggs baked in spicy tomato sauce. To drink? Bloody Mariettas, of course, made with vodka, feta-stuffed olives, and olive tapenade.

Chef Tiffani Faison’s Southeast Asian hot spot Tiger Mama now serves lunch (1363 Boylston St. at Kilmarnock Street). Visit from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. daily for soups, wok specialties, rice dishes, spicy salads, and banh mi.
