Joanne Chang to open three new Flour locations

Joanne ChangLibrary Research

Pastry maven Joanne Chang will open several new locations of her popular Flour Bakery in the coming months.

First up is Flour Harvard Square, slated for an October opening (114 Mt. Auburn Ave. at Bennett Alley, longtime site of a Chili’s). Then Flour Cambridgeport (Erie Street), a weekday location, will open in December in a smaller space with a streamlined menu — though “all of the greatest hits will definitely be represented,” Chang says (in other words, we should probably expect sticky buns). In January 2017, look for Flour Dalton Street, directly behind the Prudential Center.

Chang has had a busy few months: This spring, she won the national James Beard award for Outstanding Baker. She and her husband and business partner, Christopher Myers, also operate Flour outposts in the Back Bay, Cambridge’s Central Square, Fort Point, and the South End, as well as the South End’s Myers + Chang.
