Ice cream for Acadia

Gifford's Ice Cream

To recognize the centennial of Acadia National Park, Gifford’s Famous Ice Cream, the 41-year-old family-run ice cream company headquartered in Skowhegan, Maine, is offering two new flavors. Quarts of I Scream for Cake, cake-batter ice cream with bits of cake, rainbow sprinkles, and blue buttercream frosting, and Chocolate Brownie Crunch, light chocolate ice cream with chunks of fudgy brownies and swirls of chocolate-coated cookie crunch, are sold in markets that carry Gifford’s ice cream ($4.99-$5.49). Five percent of proceeds from these two flavors will go to Friends of Acadia, a nonprofit organization dedicated to benefiting the park’s critical needs. It’s a delicious opportunity to support a national treasure, one spoonful at a time. I Scream for Cake and Chocolate Brownie Crunch are available at Wegman’s, 200 Boylston St., Chestnut Hill, 617-762-2000; 53 3d Avenue, Burlington, 781-418-0700; and 9102 Shops Way, Northborough, 508-936-1900; and Shaw’s, 45 Storey Ave, Newburyport, 978-462-7121. www.giffordsicecream.com
