The tiki mug, remade in hand-blown glass
During the long winter months, you can always warm up with a boozy hot toddy. But it’s more fun to mix a Zombie or a Mai Tai, transporting yourself to a tropical island. The perfect vessel for your drink is a tiki mug by glassblower Andrew Iannazzi. The craftsman blows the mugs in his Cambridge studio, using molds with designs from the 1940s and ’50s to create beautifully sculptured glasses with iconic faces. In clear or colored glass, they are far from kitschy (13- to 20-ounce mugs, $38 each). Now all you need is a cocktail umbrella and a fake palm tree. Available at the Boston Shaker, 69 Holland St., Somerville, 617-718-2999, or go to www.andrewiannazzi.com.
