You don’t have to wait for iced tea anymore

Patience is a trait worth practicing, but you no longer have to wait for brewed tea to chill to make iced tea. Takeya, a California company that specializes in insulated water bottles, recently introduced the Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker that quickly brews hot tea and then chills it in seconds (1 quart, $20; 2 quart, $25). Pack the fine mesh infuser with loose-leaf tea or tea bags and fill the pitcher with boiling water to steep the tea for five minutes. Remove the infuser and pour in ice and shake with its lid to flash-chill. The BPA-free Tritan pitcher is designed to withstand a swift temperature change from boiling to immediately ice cold. The airtight lid twists into the pitcher and seals in flavor and freshness. You can even store the pitcher in the fridge on its side without leaking. The lids and handle come in avocado, black, raspberry, and blueberry colors. Available at www.takeyausa.com and www.amazon.com.
