Cape distillery’s new pink gin

Pink is a color trend this season — even for gin. The newest is Dry Line Rosé Gin from South Hollow Spirits in North Truro on Cape Cod. The distillery, located at Truro Vineyards, is the first on the Cape since Prohibition. The new release is a blend of the distillery’s handcrafted Dry Line Gin launched two years ago and 35 percent rose wine made with California grenache ($35 for 750 ml). It’s sold in the same striking rectangle bottle as the regular gin with its batch number. The rose gin has a bold flavor that comes from local botanicals and juniper berries from red cedar trees that grow on the property and subtle sweetness from the wine. Its rosy hue and refreshing taste makes a most appealing summertime cocktail, a blushing martini or gin fizz. Available at Truro Vineyards, 11 Shore Road, North Truro, 508-487-6200; Inman Square Wine & Spirits, 1226 Cambridge St., Cambridge, 617-945-2902; Kappy’s Fine Wine & Spirits locations, or go to www.trurovine
