Poke bowls are turning up everywhere. It’s Hawaii’s favorite dish, and if it has become yours, then you’ll be glad to know that Acme Smoked Fish Corp. of Brooklyn has added poke bowls (under their Blue Hill Bay label), to the list of products they distribute. The handy, single-serve bowl kits come with salt-cured and cold-smoked cubes of salmon or sashimi-grade ahi tuna and a pouch of cooked rice. There’s a packet of a slightly spicy soy-based poke sauce, and another of seasonings, which include chili peppers, sesame seeds, ginger, and orange peel ($10 to $11). Heat the rice in the microwave for no more than 60 seconds and then mix in the other ingredients, all preservative-free. It’s a good switch from a sandwich to take to work. If you’re home, build up a bowl with your own avocado, cucumber, or pickled vegetables, or sweeten the mix with slices of mango. Available at select Whole Foods Market and Wegmans locations.
