Dr. Terry Garfinkle, has been named vice president of medical affairs at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, a Steward hospital. He was most recently medical director at the Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care in Danvers and chief of head and neck surgery at North Shore Medical Center in Salem.
Garfinkle was medical director of the Danvers center during its ground-breaking and first years in operation, and he oversaw staff mergers between North Shore Medical Center and Mass. General Hospital. He is an assistant clinical professor of otolaryngology at Harvard Medical School, and he specializes in head and neck surgery for children and in issues of the ear.
“St. Elizabeth’s and Steward have demonstrated a strong commitment to bringing world-class, quality care to the communities where their patients and families live,” Garfinkle said in a press release. “I welcome the opportunity to help St. E’s continue its tradition of teaching and patient care in one of Boston’s most vibrant neighborhoods.”
Garfinkle is a founding director of the Massachusetts Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and a board member for the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
