Julian Fellowes with The Mount’s executive director, Susan Wissler.
“Downton Abbey” creator Julian Fellowes paid a visit Friday to The Mount, the not-so-humble abode of his muse, writer Edith Wharton. The turn-of-the-century spread in Lenox was designed and built by Wharton in 1902, and it’s where she wrote “The House of Mirth,” a favorite of Fellowes. Fellowes will be in Boston Saturday to receive the 2012 Edith Wharton Lifetime Achievement Award.
