Casey Affleck working on film about Boston Strangler

Those Affleck boys sure like movies with a Boston angle. Ben Affleck gave the Hub the Hollywood treatment in “Gone Baby Gone” and “The Town,” and now his kid brother Casey Affleck is working on “Boston Strangler,” a thriller about the search for the murderer who terrorized Boston in the 1960s. reports that the younger Affleck, who’ll produce and perhaps play one of the detectives, is working with screenwriter Chuck MacLean, an Emerson grad who grew up in Quincy. (MacLean is also writing “Storming Las Vegas.”) Word is Affleck hopes the film will have a tone similar to David Fincher’s films “Seven” and “Zodiac.”
