Kevin Bacon (inset) was at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, Calif., last week to talk about his new Fox drama, “The Following,” which premieres Jan. 21. But when the Globe caught up with him, he was happy to talk about Boston. Bacon said that he’s looking forward to seeing his new Boston-based action movie, “R.I.P.D.” in its final form. “I was just looping yesterday,” said Bacon, of the undead cop film that costars Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges. Bacon said he was still filming “R.I.P.D.” in Boston when he caught the 2011 reboot of “Footloose,” starring Stoughton’s Kenny Wormald. Although the two Rens’ paths never crossed, Bacon praised Wormald, saying, “He’s a great dancer.” Bacon said he was back in Massachusetts last summer to play Indian Ranch in Webster with his family band the Bacon Brothers. “That was wild,” he says of the casual, family-friendly lakefront venue. “It is a cool spot, not like anything I’d seen before.”
