Russell may shoot film here in spring

We’re hearing more buzz about David O. Russell’s next movie filming around town. In December, we reported that the “Silver Linings Playbook” director (inset) would shoot his film inspired by the 1970s-1980s Abscam scandal in Boston sometime this year. Now we’re hearing rumors about local auditions, and that the drama — which stars Bradley Cooper and Russell’s “The Fighter” cast members Christian Bale and Amy Adams — will start production in the spring. In related news, Massachusetts author Matthew Quick, who wrote the book on which “Silver Linings Playbook” is based, tweeted that he was in New York for a Q&A with Russell and actress
Julia Stiles
, who plays Jennifer Lawrence’s sister in the Oscar-nominated film. Quick was also taping interviews with big New York media outlets, including “Today.” “Interviewed this morning by the very kind Jenna Bush Hager,” he tweeted. “She seemed impressed that my [young adult] books made the Texas Tayshas
reading list!”
