The Patriots hosted open auditions for the team’s cheerleading squad over the weekend. According to the Pats, the hopefuls — who spent much of Saturday at the Dana-Farber Field House at Gillette Stadium — were judged in the categories of “dance ability, showmanship, overall appearance, and level of physical fitness.” Finalists will be called back for more auditions March 16. Saturday’s contestants included Shatia Chesson, of Brockton. Returning cheerleaders who helped with the day included Stephanie Sanchez.
