‘The Vineyard’ is on, ‘Terminales’ is a question

The fate of the Boston-based ABC Family pilot “Terminales” is still up in the air, but the network has officially ordered “The Vineyard,” a reality show — or what it’s calling a “docu-soap” — about real Martha’s Vineyard residents that will begin shooting this May. A rep for the cable network told us Monday that casting for the series is almost finished and that it will premiere July 24. As for “Terminales” — a drama starring Italia Ricci about a young Boston journalist who’s diagnosed with terminal cancer — we’re hearing that it’s not off the table, and might be added to the network’s lineup soon (although the network rep did not confirm). The pilot for that series was filmed all around Boston — including here at the Globe — last year. . . . Red Sox slugger David Ortiz will appear on this Sunday’s episode of Fox’s “The Cleveland Show.” He voices an animated version of himself in the baseball-themed episode.
