Beware of bogus tickets for NKOTB show at the Orpheum

If you have a ticket to the upcoming New Kids on the Block CD release show at the Orpheum, you’re definitely not getting in. And that’s no joke. New Kids Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood, and Jonathan and Jordan Knight are about to embark on a US tour with 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men, and tickets for those shows are available on But for the March 30 gig at the Orpheum, NKOTB used a paperless ticketing system. That means if you’ve purchased a ticket on the re-sale market — and there are plenty available at hugely inflated prices — it’s a phony. Orpheum GM Bruce Montgomery says the theater’s 2,700 seats sold out as soon as the show went on sale last week, and the credit card used to make the purchase will serve as your ticket. (You’ll also need a valid ID.) “The message is don’t try to buy a ticket to this show,” said Montgomery. “The whole idea with the paperless ticket program is to get the fans in the seats at face value.”
