Thompson Square met Quincy Market on Saturday when the married country duo hosted a listening party at the Hard Rock Cafe as part of WKLB’s 20-year celebration. Shawna and Keifer Thompson (above) have been jetting all over the country to spread the word about their second album, “Just Feels Good,” and said they were happy to give back to the station that helped make their song “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not” a number one country hit. “It’s really cool to come here and experience you guys listening to the record because we really haven’t had a whole lot of time to just sit down and listen to the music,” Shawna said. The pair, which won both the ACM and CMA awards for vocal duo of the year in 2012, performed a few live tunes and played fresh cuts from the new album over the PA. They told stories about the new songs and also fielded questions from the intimate audience of contest winners. One bold fan asked the couple when they plan to have children. Shawna responded, laughing, “It’s so cute because I think there’s more pressure from the fans than there is from our family.” Thompson Square will return in June to play the sold-out WKLB Country Music Festival 2013 with Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line at the Comcast Center.
