Artist John Lurie coming to Coolidge Corner

After the tragic events of the past 48 hours, is it any wonder we’re looking ahead? We’re told John Lurie, the hipster icon who can be classified as artist, musician, composer, actor, director or all of the above, is coming to the Coolidge Corner Theatre May 13 to screen three episodes of his late, great TV show “Fishing With John,” as well as a short video of his paintings called “The First and Royal Queen.” In the episodes of “Fishing With John” being shown at the Coolidge, Lurie, whose acting credits include “Stranger Than Paradise” and “Down By Law,” goes fishing with Willem Dafoe in Maine, fishing with Tom Waits in Jamaica, and fishing (for giant squid) with Dennis Hopper in Thailand.
