Duke Robillard out as Bob Dylan’s guitarist

Three months after joining Bob Dylan’s band, Rhode Island native Duke Robillard is out. Robillard, well known locally as the founder of Roomful of Blues and an occasional playing partner of former J. Geils Band guitarist Jay Geils, has been abruptly replaced in Dylan’s band by Charlie Sexton, whom Robillard had replaced in April. No word on why Robillard is out, but last month he posted this message on Facebook: “For sale: Bob Dylan CD and record collection, slightly used.” He later wrote, “I will be selling a lot of guitars and amps soon. I’ll keep you posted.” Robillard’s last show with Dylan was June 30 in Nashville.
