Just before Taylor Swift threw her party in Westerly, R.I., former Boston and Rhode Island event planner Rebecca Donovan took over the Blithewold Mansion in Bristol, R.I., to celebrate her new book deal. Donovan’s self-published “new adult” novels were picked up by Amazon Children’s Publishing, which rereleased the first two books in her “Breathing Series” in June and debuted the third, “Out of Breath,” last week. Donovan’s friends in the events biz helped her with the affair, which drew Amy Hosford, general manager of Amazon Children’s Publishing, and a pack of pals who worked with Donovan at Boston-based Rafanelli Events years ago.
