Errol Morris to make darkly funny non-documentary

When he’s done with his documentary about former Defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld — and we’re told that’ll be soon — Cambridge filmmaker Errol Morris has another project lined up, and this time the Oscar-winning director of “The Fog of War” is doing something a little different. reports that Morris will be directing “Holland, Michigan,” a suburban thriller that’s also darkly funny. The script was penned by first-time screenwriter Andrew Sodroski, a Boston native who majored in medieval history at Harvard. “Holland, Michigan” is one of two non-documentaries Morris is working on. The other is “Freezing People Is Easy,” a movie about the early days of cryogenics starring Paul Rudd, Kristen Wiig, Owen Wilson, and the perfectly preserved Christopher Walken. Morris’s doc about Rummy is called “The Unknown Known: The Words Of Donald Rumsfeld.”
