Actor Dermot Mulroney, who’ll star with Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep in a film version of “August: Osage County” later this year, was at the Cape Rep Theatre on Monday with his mom, Ellen, an Orleans dweller. The night featured a reading by Ellen of Christine Emmert’s “Peter Pan’s Mother” and a Q&A with Dermot led by the Improper Bostonian’s Jonathan Soroff, who just released the book “Crimes of Fashion.” The night’s audience included Oscar-winner and Kingston resident Chris Cooper (who also has a role in “August”), Cooper’s actress-writer wife, Marianne Leone Cooper , and Cape Rep Theatre’s producing artistic director Janine Perry.
