ROSAMUND PIKE

We know who’ll be starring opposite Ben Affleck in director David Fincher’s film “Gone Girl.” British actress Rosamund Pike will play Affleck’s wife, who goes missing on the couple’s fifth wedding anniversary, leaving her husband implicated.

The movie is based on the book by Gillian Flynn, who wrote the screenplay. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pike, who starred opposite Tom Cruise in “Jack Reacher,” was chosen from a field that included Charlize Theron, Natalie Portman, Emily Blunt, Abbie Cornish, and Olivia Wilde. The film is set to go into production in September, which could delay the start of Affleck’s next project, a movie of Dennis Lehane’s “Live by Night.”
