She played a cheerleader on "Friday Night Lights," so maybe we shouldn't be surprised that actress Minka Kelly is a big football fan. But what we learn in the September issue of Marie Claire is that Kelly is a diehard Patriots fan. In the mag's "Savvy Girl's Guide to Football" feature, Kelly says the Pats are her favorite team and Tom Brady, whom she calls "a great team leader," is her favorite player. Kelly grew up in Los Angeles, but has ties to Boston. Her dad is Rick Dufay, who replaced Brad Whitford when he and fellow Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry left the band in 1981. (Dufay recorded "Rock in a Hard Place" with a lineup that included Steven Tyler, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton, and Jimmy Crespo.) Kelly's other local connection, of course, is her boyfriend, Sudbury superhero Chris Evans. She also plays Jackie Kennedy in the upcoming Lee Daniels movie, "The Butler," a role she calls "scary, intimidating, humbling."
