Michael Dukakis celebrates 80th with friends

A belated happy birthday to former governor Michael Dukakis, who celebrated his 80th (which was Sunday) with friends and family Friday night at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. The party, a fund-raiser for the New England Center for Children, was well attended by folks from Duke’s administrations, and included a few funny remarks by George Stephanopoulos and US Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey. WBZ’s Dan Rea ably emceed the event. . . . British actor Theo James, star of the upcoming film “Divergent,” was spied at The Proprietors Bar & Table on Nantucket the other day. James was doing a photo shoot for GQ, which has picked him as an actor to watch in 2014. The Proprietors is owned by chef Tom Berry and Michael and Orla LaScola of American Seasons.
