Ben Bradlee Jr. wins sports writing award


Former Boston Globe editor Ben Bradlee Jr. has picked up PEN New England’s 2013 Cerulli Award for Excellence in Sports Writing/Biography for his upcoming book, “The Kid: The Immortal Life of Ted Williams.” The award was established last year by Kurt and Mary Cerulli. First prize went to Ben Fountain for his novel “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.” Bradlee’s book comes out Dec. 3.
