The American Repertory Theater held the first of a series of readings called “Trouble in Mind: Lost Masterpieces From the African American Theater Canon” the other night. Curated by Hilton Als, theater critic for The New Yorker, the series is a joint venture between the ART and the Hutchins Center for African and American Research.
