As expected, the hosts of the former NECN show "TV Diner" are returning to the small screen. Word is NESN will announce any day that Billy Costa and Jenny Johnson will cohost a new weekly show starting in February. The show, which doesn't yet have a name, will combine food and sports, and will air on Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. Like "TV Diner," it will include restaurant reviews and cooking demonstrations, as well as occasional sports-related segments, such as athletes' favorite places to eat. We're told car kahuna Herb Chambers will be a major sponsor of the show. Costa, a cohost of KISS 108's popular "Matty in the Morning" show, has been hinting of late that he and Johnson are headed back to TV. NECN, you'll recall, announced in September that "TV Diner" was being canceled amid a shakeup at the station that saw more than a half-dozen employees lose their jobs. NECN has since moved more in the direction of news and weather, with less of an emphasis on lifestyle programming.
