‘Monuments Men’ cast at National Gallery


Matt Damon and the rest of his “Monuments Men” costars were, appropriately enough, at The National Gallery in London this week. Despite lackluster reviews, the movie about a group of art experts dispatched during World War II to save culturally important items from certain destruction at the hands of Hitler, has done reasonably well at the box office. In London, the cast posed in front of “Cupid Complaining to Venus,” a painting by German Renaissance artist Lucas Cranach the Elder that was once part of Hitler’s private collection.
