Better late than never. Governor Deval Patrick finally joined the New England Conservatory Symphony to narrate the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in a performance of Joseph Schwantner’s “New Morning for the World.” Tuesday’s concert at Jordan Hall, originally scheduled for Feb. 5 but postponed due to one of this winter’s many storms, also included a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 “Eroica.” The event was part of NEC’s ongoing “Music: Truth to Power” festival, which aims to show the role music has played in the human struggle.
