The actor/hip-hop artist known as LL Cool J (above with, from left, Harvard student Soyoung Kim, Dr. S. Allen Counter, and student Aubrey Walker) was at Sanders Theatre Saturday to receive the Artist of the Year award from the Harvard Foundation. The two-time Grammy Award winner, whose given name is James Todd Smith, was honored during the school’s always-entertaining Cultural Rhythms festival, which showcases student performances and ethno-cultural cuisine. Previous recipients include Shakira, Will Smith, Salma Hayek, Matt Damon, and Wyclef Jean.
