Celtics players perform play for school kids

Boston Celtics Jeff Green and Kelly Olynyk tested their acting chops Tuesday at the King School in Dorchester. The high-flying thespians were at the school as part of the Celts’ “Read to Achieve” program, which promotes literacy. The big show? “Chicken Big,” a play about a small hen laying a giant egg and the other chickens freaking out about it until they learn that good things come in all sizes. Fifth-graders at the school helped Green and Olynyk perform the play in front of the entire school. After the performance, Green and Olynyk told the kids about some of their favorite books and also told them that reading well is a key ingredient to future success. . . . New England Revolution soccer players stayed late at Royale after Media Day events on Tuesday night to show off their new jerseys. Team members who modeled looks during a fashion show included forward Teal Bunbury, who looked psyched to be in a new Adidas jacket.
