Chris Pine in talks to star in ‘The Finest Hours’

Producers of “The Finest Hours,” the movie based on the book of the same name by Casey Sherman and Michael Tougias, may have found their star. Variety reports that Chris Pine is in negotiations to star in the Disney film about the 1952 Coast Guard rescue of 84 men off Cape Cod. Pine is best known for playing Captain James T. Kirk in 2009 film “Star Trek” and the sequel, “Star Trek Into Darkness.” Last we heard, Craig Gillespie, whose credits include “Lars and the Real Girl,” was in talks to direct, with a script by “The Fighter” writers Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson.
