Warner Bros. has released a statement that confirms the cast of the movie “Black Mass.” We already knew that Johnny Depp will star as Whitey Bulger and that Benedict Cumberbatch replaced Guy Pearce as Whitey’s brother Billy. Now we know for sure that Sienna Miller is playing Catherine Greig, Dakota Johnson is Whitey’s ex Lindsey Cyr, Joel Edgerton is FBI Agent John Connolly, Medford-bred actress Julianne Nicholson is Connolly’s wife, Adam Scott of “Parks and Recreation” is FBI Agent Robert Fitzpatrick, Rory Cochrane is Steve Flemmi, and Jesse Plemons is Kevin Weeks. Warner Bros. says that the cast also includes “House of Cards” actor Corey Stoll , Brad Carter of “True Detective,” and Jeremy Strong of “Zero Dark Thirty.’’ Warner Bros. says the movie is still untitled, but it’s based on “Black Mass: The True Story of an Unholy Alliance Between the FBI and the Irish Mob,” by former Globe reporters Dick Lehr and Gerard O’Neill.
