“Top Chef,” which is filming its next season in Boston, put out a call via Twitter last week that it was looking for super fans of the show to serve as diners on an episode. We hear that more than 16,000 people e-mailed to volunteer for the gig, a response that crashed the show’s temporary Gmail account. In the end, only 75 people were chosen to participate. . . . In other “Top Chef” news, host Padma Lakshmi took time out Sunday to see Cirque du Soleil’s show “Amaluna,” which is under the very big top at the Boston Marine Industrial Park.
