Keep an eye out for Woody Allen at this weekend's Newport Jazz Festival. The director is currently in Rhode Island shooting his latest movie — with Emma Stone and Joaquin Phoenix (above) — and we're told he might have a few free moments to check out the music. Allen plays the clarinet and, when not busy filming, plays weekly with his band the Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band at the Carlyle Hotel in New York. Taking advantage of the state's tax incentive program and, presumably, its scenic beauty, Allen has filmed so far in Newport, Providence, Portsmouth, and Jamestown. "There's a huge buzz," Steve Feinberg, executive director of the Rhode Island Film & Television Office, told us Tuesday. "We've gotten calls from London, e-mails from Bangladesh. People want to either get involved or, well, one woman said she was his muse and needed to talk to me."
