Philanthropic foodies gathered for the inaugural Chefs for Clefts soiree at the Tip Tap Room Monday night. Hosted by chef-owner Brian Poe and Gordon Wilcox of Wilcox Hospitality Group, the “Night in Colombia” event raised money for Mass. General Hospital’s Global Surgical Initiatives. Among those are medical missions to Colombia where surgical teams assist children with cleft lip and palate and other types of congenital deformities. Local chefs Chris Coombs, Andy Husbands, Michael Scelfo, and Lydia Shire donated dinners at their restaurants to help raise funds for the programs.
