Boston-based movie producers Paul Bernon and Sam Slater, of Burn Later Productions, had a hit at the Toronto International Film Festival this week. Their latest film, “Adult Beginners,” a dramedy starring Nick Kroll, Rose Byrne, and Bobby Cannavale, was picked up for US distribution by RADiUS-TWC (The Weinstein Company), which also snagged Sudbury actor Chis Evans’s directorial debut, “Before We Go.” “Adult Beginners” is about an entrepreneur (Kroll) who’s down on his luck and has to move in with his sister and her husband (Byrne and Cannavale). Burn Later also recently wrapped the movie “Results,” which stars Guy Pearce and was directed by Harvard’s Andrew Bujalski.
