Writer and former Smith College president Jill Ker Conway, retiring MFA director Malcolm Rogers, civic activist Hubie Jones , and former longtime Boston College president Father J. Donald Monan received the inaugural Governor Awards for the Humanities at the Mass Humanities 40th anniversary gala on Sunday. The event, held at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, had a guest list that included former chief justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Margaret Marshall, former congressman Barney Frank, and historian David McCullough.
