Decorated MIT professor Dr. Robert Langer, who’s considered the founder of tissue engineering, was among the honorees at the 30th annual Kyoto Prize ceremony in Kyoto, Japan, on Monday. The prize comes with about $450,000 and a 20-karat medal. Guests at the ceremony included US Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy. Langer won a $3 million Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences last year.
